Destined To Live The Good Life Orphanage
Steve & Deborah have had a fruitful God assigned relationship with Kitwe Zambia for the past 25 years now. Each year they fly over and spend a few weeks ministering in leadership conferences and or holding outdoor crusades and just discipling new converts and seeing a great harvest of people come to know Jesus Christ as personal Lord and Savior. They were really blessed each time to be able and go and visit nearby orphanages and love on the children as well and bring gifts and provision. God has truly given them supernatural favor within the region and the nation as they have also had exposure on television to express their love and prophetic insight about the nation of Zambia.
Deborah traveled with a team in 2007 that would change her and Steve's relationship for all of eternity with Kitwe Zambia and the orphaned underprivileged and destitute children that lived there. An outdoor crusade was held in the evenings and as the lights of the stadium would shine bright, Deborah's eyes were drawn to the first few rows of little small children and then the children sizes stair-stepped all the way to teenage. The host Pastor whom Deborah & Steve have related with all these many years Bishop Steven Mwakibinga shared the sad and dramatic real truth of what she was seeing. He explained that all of these children were street children. Orphans. He said some walked for miles and days to come to the location because they heard that there would be music and loving people from the USA visiting.
Before and after each meeting Deborah would be lovingly mauled and surrounded as these children would laugh and dance and some cry and ask her to please take us home with you. She and Steve Had always seen street children and orphans on every trip, however nothing impacted her heart quite like this trip. Only a short period of time when Deborah and her team returned home July of 2007, God spoke to her heart profoundly and ask her this question. Would you and Steve be willing to be surrogate parents to my street children in Zambia. Deborahs heart was captivated by the love that he heavenly Father felt for these little ones. She and Steve readily responded yes Lord, Give us these babies. They both knew it was impossible to bring every child home, and Jesus knew it was a Kingdom possibility to bring a home to his children. Thus the journey began.
Deborah & Steve began sharing the vision with everyone who would listen. A facility was already in place in Kitwe and they only needed to do renovations so as to clear every code for operation through social services. The work seemed slow yet steady. As they were faithful to continue with each phase of work to be completed God was faithful to provide for their dream and Kingdom assignment.
In July & August of 2010 Steve & Deborah returned with a team to Zambia and celebrated the glorious day they had waited for ...The official Grand Opening of “ Destined To Live The Good Life orphanage” 36 beautiful children because of your generosity are now off the streets and sleeping in a warm bed eating 3 hot meals a day, being spiritually and academically taught and embraced by the love of widow women who now as each child also have a large family are filled with love and an expectancy of a bright joy filled future.
We have room for 100 children and ground to expand. 64 more children are presently on the waiting list as necessary sponsorships funds increase, they too will join this happy family.
We are a 501 (C) 3 non profit organization.
We have called the facility “Destined To Live The Good Life” because we want every child to know that Jesus loves them and has great plans for their life.
For we are God’s [own] handiwork (His workmanship), recreated in Christ Jesus, [born anew] that we may do those good works which God predestined (planned beforehand) for us [taking paths which He prepared ahead of time], that we should walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us to live].
